Code of Conduct for Students

    • 75% of attendance is necessary to write the semester examinations.
    • The students should have a minimum of 60% attendance to apply for condonation. Students having less than 60% attendance should redo the missed semester and then continue the remaining semesters.
    • A student requiring leave must apply for it in advance in the prescribed form. In case of absence due to unforeseen cause, application for leave must be submitted as soon as possible and never later than the first day of return to the college. Leave applied for reasonable causes will be ordinarily granted.
    • A Student absent from class even for a period without due permission, will suffer loss of attendance for the full day.
    • Ragging in any form is totally banned inside the campus.
    • Use of mobile phones inside class or corridors and during the working hours is strictly prohibited.
    • There will be Prayer and General Assembly on every Monday and every student should be present for the same.
    • Students should be inside their respective classrooms on or before 9.25a.m. for the prayer and silence should be maintained during the prayer.
    • No student shall leave the classroom without the permission of the staff member before the class gets over.
    • Students should be regular and punctual in attending classes and all activities of the department and college.
    • All students of the college should hold the membership of the library.
    • Strict silence should be maintained in the library.
    • The library will function from 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m on all working days.
    • The library will remain closed on Sundays and during the summer vacation.
    • The students are advised to keep their bar-coded identity card (ID) safely and not to lend their card to any other student. While entering the library, student should show their ID card for taking books.
    • Books will be issued to the students only on presenting their Identity Card.
    • Reference books to be used only in the library and will not be issued at any cost.
    • Books taken from the library should be covered and maintained carefully. No marking or damage should be done in the book by the student.
    • At the end of each semester both the staff and students are expected to return all the books to the library.
    • Books and magazines approved by the Principal alone will be permitted to be used in the college campus.
    • During free hours students can make use of the college library.

Code of Conduct for Teachers

    • All the faculty members should be inside the college campus five minutes before the first bell.
    • Usage of ICT tools in teaching to make the lectures more interesting
    • The syllabus should be completed in stipulated time.
    • All the examinations should be conducted as per the scheduled time table.
    • All the examinations should be evaluated in the stipulated time.
    • The prior approval of leave should be taken from the respective authority and the alternative arrangements should be made for the classes.
    • The rules, regulations and instructions of the institute should be followed always.

Code of Conduct for Governing Body

    • To consistently attend meetings of the governing body and the committees on which they serve, and attain suitable knowledge to contribute effectively to decision making.
    • Present the budget estimates as received from the finance and accounts committee with modifications, if any, to the principal for its final approval.
    • Provide infrastructure, premises, furniture, apparatus and other means needed for the smooth conduct of the work of the institute.
    • Consider the perspective plan for the academic development of the institute.
    • Take overall responsibility for student welfare.

Code of Conduct for Principal

    • Principal being the Head of the Institution is responsible for all academic, financial and administrative activities of the institution.
    • Review current academic programmes and Human resources management of the institution.
    • Admission authority for the institution to implement admission process as prescribed by the affiliating University.
    • Development and implementation of strategic plan for short term and long term development of the institution with quality improvement.
    • Plan and facilitate guidance, counselling and other students’ services at institution level.
    • Discuss and approve financial estimates, annual reports, accounts and audit reports on time.
    • Maintain necessary records of the institute in stipulated formats.
    • To act as a chief officer in-charge for examinations.
    • To lead the accreditation activities of institute for various quality standards.

Code of Conduct for Supportive Staff

    • Punctuality should be maintained by all the Non-Teaching Staff
    • Understand the job scope, practices, and procedures relating to their position.
    • Ensure truthfulness and diligence in the performance of their assigned duties.
    • Be well-organized.
    • The prior approval of leave should be taken from the respective authority.
    • Maintain a considerate environment while performing their assigned duties.
    • Ability to solve problem within the scope of their position.

Self-regulation

Self regulation is an important value to be imbibed in students without which one cannot accomplish any task successfully. Self-regulation is the ability to monitor and control one’s own behaviour, emotions, or thoughts, altering them in accordance with the demands of the situation. It includes the abilities to inhibit first responses, to resist interference from irrelevant stimulation, and to persist on relevant tasks even when we don’t enjoy them.

Discipline

Inculcation of discipline in students includes moral values, positive attitude, respectfulness and obedience.

Duty

The duty of every individual should be considered as a service to society.

Love

Basic traits of an individual includes acceptance, affection, care, compassion, consideration, dedication, devotion, empathy, forbearance, forgiveness, generosity, gentleness, humanness, interdependence, kindness, patience, patriotism, reverence, sacrifice, selflessness, service, sharing, sympathy, thoughtfulness, tolerance and trust.

Truthfulness

Values related to Truth are accuracy, curiosity, discernment, fairness, fearlessness, honesty, integrity (unity of thought, word, and deed), intuition, justice, optimism, purity, quest for knowledge, reason, self-analysis, sincerity, sprit of enquiry, synthesis, trust, truthfulness, and determination.

Friendliness

Friendliness among one another should be promoted for the well-being of the society. Friends are sociable, pleasant companions, who always know how to say things the right way, even when they are challenging others’ behaviour. They are the natural facilitators in groups, making the social round move more smoothly.

Service

“Service to Humanity is Service to God”. Quality of “Serving the needy” builds the right human being.

Happiness

Internal happiness should be implanted in students through meditation and Yoga to nurture the young minds with strong hope and determination.

Peace

To live peacefully, one should start to install peace within (self). Charity begins at home.

Then one can spread peace to family, organization where one works, and then to the world, including the environment.

Professional Ethics for Teaching Profession

Students

A code of ethics for educationalists always deals with issues such as even-handedness and confidentiality. Teachers may not show bias against students for any reason, and they must not share information about the student with anyone other than college professionals who need the information to assist the student. Teachers are expected to mentor the students properly to face any eventualities.

Parents

Parent teachers’ relationship should be sorted out in a cordial as well as professional manner. The teachers are responsible to team up with parents and build an environment of trust. Teachers should never discriminate students based on caste, creed or religion or their economic status in the society. It is generally considered disreputable for teachers to accept gifts from parents.

Colleagues

A teacher’s relationship with her colleagues is expected to be fair-minded, convivial and to cheer one another to hold on to high professional standards.

Professionalism

High standard of professionalism should be reflected in every act of a teacher. They should practice intellectual honesty. Teachers should be conscious of their responsibilities to their subject, to their students, to their profession, and to their institution.
