Internal Complaints Committee

Internal Complaints Committee

The College has constituted the Internal Complaint Committee in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2012. The ICC is the college’s mechanism for addressing complaints, grievances, and cases of sexual harassment and for recommending appropriate redressal measures.

This is in keeping with Article 21 of the Constitution of India, which assures every individual the right to live with human dignity, free from exploitation. In this spirit, the college policy is formulated to prevent sexual harassment of women on campus. The policy extends to all students, faculty, staff, residents, and visitors.

The Committee takes cognizance of all forms of sexual harassment and promotes gender sensitization. This aligns with the University Grants Commission’s concern for ensuring a safe environment for women students and employees in educational institutions.

Objectives

  • Prevent and prohibit incidents of sexual harassment involving female employees and students within the college.
  • Create awareness among female employees and students about their fundamental right to a safe, secure, and healthy campus environment.

Procedure

The Internal Complaint Committee shall adopt the following steps to resolve complaints:

  • Complaints must be submitted to the college authority by the aggrieved individual.
  • The college authority shall forward the complaint to the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) for appropriate action.
  • The ICC shall review the complaint in a formal meeting and decide on initiating an enquiry into the matter.
