    • Very Rev. Mother. Daria and Rev. Sr. Dulsie, Principal, St.Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tirupur took up the initiative of starting a college for Women in Tirupur.

    • The strenuous efforts of Thiru.K.Subbarayan, former Member of the Parliament, Mr.Ponnuswamy, Emperor Knitting house and Mr.Govindaraj, Geethanjali Knitting have helped the management to get the necessary clearance from the Government of Tamilnadu.

    • The first Commission visited the college on 5th September 2000

    • St. Joseph's College for Women had its humble beginning on 6th September, 2000 with 16 students.

    • Very Rev. Mother. Daria, Superior General, was the President of the Governing Body of St. Joseph's College for Women.

    • Rev. Sr. Gerosa became the first Secretary of the college. Dr. Arul Jeganatharaj was appointed as the first Principal of the college.

    • B.Com. and B.Sc. Computer Science degree Courses were introduced with 5 and 11 students respectively.

    • Blessing of Ravel Block was held on 19th February 2001 by Rev.Bishop Ambrose D.D.,D.C.L., Bishop of Coimbatore.

    • Starting of B.B.M and B.C.A.Courses were sanctioned by the Bharathiar University.

    • The first Governing Body meeting was held.

    • Inaugural function for various associations was held.

    • The College Committee Meeting approved the introduction of M.Sc. Information Science and Management from the academic year 2003 onwards.

    • M.Sc. Information Science and Management was introduced.

    • Prof. Rose Mary George was appointed as the Second Principal of the college.

    • Mrs. Sheila F. Robert took charge as the third Principal of the college.

    • St. Francis Block was inaugurated on 30th April 2004.

    • Department of Costume Design and Fashion, Department of Mathematics were introduced.

    • Rev.Sr.Mary Lucy Juliet became the second Secretary of the College.

    • Rev. Sr. Mary Lucy Juliet was appointed as the fourth Principal of the college (Jan-2006 to May-2006) and continued to be the Secretary also.

    • M.Sc. Information Science and Management was replaced by M.Sc. Computer Science programme as the need of the hour.

    • Very Rev. Mother Celine Nirmala, Superior General of Presentation Congregation, became the President of the Governing Body of St.Joseph's College for Women.


    • Two Postgraduate students secured University Ranks, bringing laurels to the College.
    • Devika J. of M.Sc. Computer Science secured the First Rank, and Radhiya Devi C. of M.Sc. Computer Science secured the Fifth Rank.
    • Thirty-two students were successfully placed in reputed organizations.

    • The College secured three University Ranks from Bharathiar University.

    • The College secured four University Ranks from Bharathiar University.

    • B.Com with Computer Applications and M.Com.programmes were introduced.

    • Arthi Shefali. R of B.Com. and Mythili Selvi.K of B.B.M. received University 3rd and 10th Ranks respectively.

    • Mrs. G. Ramani, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, qualified the SET examination

    • Forty-four students were successfully placed in reputed companies.

    • The College secured seven University Ranks.

    • Eleven students secured University Ranks, bringing glory to the College.

    • Fifteen students were successfully placed in reputed firms.

    • Rev. Sr. Savariammal was appointed as the Sixth Principal and Secretary of the College.

    • Eleven students secured University Ranks, bringing credit to the College.

    • Mrs. Usha, Asst.Professor, Department of Tamil received her Doctorate degree.

    • Eight students got placed in reputed companies.

    • Dr. Rev. Sr. Dona Grace Jeyaseely became the Seventh Principal and Secretary of the College.

    • Internal Quality Assurance Cell was formed

    • B.A.English Literature programme was introduced.

    • Sixteen students got university ranks and brought laurels to our college.

    • B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Chemistry, and M.Sc. Mathematics programmes were introduced in the College.

    • The new building for the Library and Alona Auditorium were inaugurated.

    • The College was recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

    • Thirteen students secured University Ranks, adding grandeur to the College.

    • Mrs. R. Dhanalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, received her Doctorate degree.

    • Mrs. S. Sahaya Tamil Selvi, Head, Department of Computer Science, and Mrs. J. Priyadharshini, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of PG Computer Science, qualified in the SET Examination.


    • 107 of our students received their offer letters for placement from reputed companies.

    • The College website has been Re-engineered.

    • Mrs. J. Priyadharshini, Head & Asst. Professor, Department of PG Computer Science received Best Paper Award in DRDO Sponsored International Conference on Emerging Sensor Devices, Materials and Technologies (NCESDMT 2017) at Chikkanna Govt Arts College, Tirupur.

    • On 14th June 2017, the new building “Sacred Heart Block” was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. L. Thomas Aquinas, Bishop of Coimbatore, and the inauguration and unveiling of the Stone by Very Rev. Mother Celine Nirmala, Superior General, the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Coimbatore. Sacred Heart Block with 15 Classrooms, 2 Natural Science Labs, 1 Computer Lab, 1 Seminar Hall, and a big canteen were inaugurated.

    • State Level Seminar on “Opportunities in Fashion and Textiles” was organized by the Department of Costume Design and Fashion. Mr. Saravakumar Palaniappan, Mr. Sam Vimel Rajkumar, and Mr. Suresh Babu were the resource persons. Faculty Development Programme on National Assessment and Accreditation (NAAC) was organized on 28th November 2017. The Resource persons were Dr. V. Krishnan and Dr. A. Vasudevan from Government Arts and Science College, Udumalpet.

    • Dr. S. Prema, Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce received her Doctoral degree.

    • M.Phil. Programmes for Computer Science and Commerce were introduced in the college.

    • Bharathiar University affiliated Add on Course on Yoga for Youth Empowerment commenced for the students.


    • Basketball Court was contributed by Alumni for the students.
    • Mrs. Amuthavalli, Asst. Professor, Department of Tamil qualified in NET Examination.
    • Dr. T.G. Shejo, Head & Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce received her Doctoral degree.
    • International Conference on Reading the Nation- The Global Perspective was organized by Department of English on 3rd and 4th August 2018.

    • Our college signed and exchanged an MoU with Tally Institute of Learning, Tirupur (Bright Commerce Career Academy)

    • Mrs. S. Kanagalakshmi, Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce qualified in SET and NET Examination

    • Ms. C. Radhiya Devi and Mrs. C. Kavitha, Asst. Professors, Department of Computer Science qualified in SET Examination.

    • Rev. Sr. Dr. Kulandai Therese A. became the eighth Principal and Secretary of the college.

    • Electoral Literacy Club was inaugurated.

    • State Level Seminar on “Dynamics of Teaching” was organized by Department of English.

    • National Conference on “Advanced Computing Technologies and Intellectual Property Rights” was organized by Department of Computer Science in collaboration with IQAC” on 16.02.18. Dr. Thirumoorthy, Professor and Head in Social Work, Director, Sri Ramakrishna Academy, Sri Ramakrishna College of arts and College, Coimbatore enlightened the session on “Intellectual Property Rights”.

    • NAAC Peer Team visit was held on 22.03.2019 and 23.03.2019. The Institution has been accredited with a CGPA of 2.61 on a seven-point scale with B+ Grade by NAAC valid for a period of 5 years from 28.03.2019.

    • Mrs. G. Anandhi, Head and Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce with Computer Applications received a grant of ₹20,000/- from DST-NIMAT for conducting the Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp.

    • Department of Commerce with Computer Applications conducted DST-NIMAT 2019-2020 sponsored Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp.

    • A grant of ₹90,000/- from National Commission for Women, New Delhi to organize the Legal Awareness Program by Dr. J. Priyadharshini, IQAC Coordinator and Asst. Professor of Computer Science.

    • The book “Karuvarai Muthal Kallarai Varai” by S. Manosri was released on 20th February, 2020.

    • The book “Idhyathin Ninaivalaigal” by G. Bhuvaneswari from II Year PG, Department of Mathematics was released on 5th September, 2019.

    • The College had 16 University Rank Holders in UG and 1 in PG for the previous academic year 2019–2020.

    • Dr. R. Mary Josephine became the ninth Principal of the College.

    • Rev. Sr. Dr. Kulandai Therese A. became the ninth Secretary of the College.

    • The College adopted five villages under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scheme.

    • IVDP Scholarships were arranged for students by Rev. Sr. Kulandai Therese A. and Dr. S. Sahaya Tamil Selvi, Head and Associate Professor of Computer Science.

    • Dr. J. Priyadharshini, Associate Professor of Computer Science and IQAC Coordinator, received a grant of ₹30,000/- from NAAC for organizing a webinar on “Quality Enhancements and Best Practices of Higher Education Institutions.”

    • Eleven new Clubs were initiated to ignite the intellectual capabilities of students.

    • Ten students secured Bharathiar University Ranks, bringing laurels to the College.

    • New Programmes B.Sc. Psychology and B.Com. Business Analytics commenced.

    • Dr. T.G. Shejo, Head and Associate Professor of Commerce and UBA Coordinator received a Grant of ₹50,000/- to improve the adopted villages.

    • Dr. J. Priyadharshini, Associate Professor of Computer Science and IQAC Coordinator organized a NAAC Sponsored Webinar on “Quality Enhancements and Best Practices of Higher Education Institutions”.and a Webinar on "Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Programme" on 26.08.2022 in collaboration with National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India.

    • 473 Students completed their online certificate courses in IBM Portal as an outcome of the collaboration with IBM by IQAC of the College.

    • The College launched the Virtual Tour of the College.

    • Rev. Sr. Dr. Pauline Mary became the tenth Secretary of the college.

    • Dr. S. Sahaya Tamil Selvi became the tenth Principal.

    • New Programmes like B.Sc. Computer Science with Data Analytics and B.Com Professional Accounting commenced.

    • Twenty-one students secured university rank including four gold medals.

    • Rev. Sr. Dr. M. Helen became the eleventh Secretary of the College

    • Department of Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Science with Data analytics organized Two Day International Conference on "Research Perspectives in New-Gen Computational Paradigms on 11.07.24 and 12.07.24.

    • Department of English Literature organized International Conference on "The role of AI Driven Technology in the realm of Humanities" on 22nd and 23rd August 2024

    • NAAC Peer Team Visit was held on 23rd and 24th September 2024. The Institution was accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade and a CGPA of 3.22 on 14th November 2024.

    • Department of Commerce organized an International Conference on “Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Commerce – Emerging Pathways” on 20th and 21st January, 2025.

    • Department of English Literature, hosted the International Workshop 2025: Mastering Generative AI in Education on January 31st, 2025. Directed by Dr. Helen Crompton, Professor of Instructional Technology, Executive Director of the Research Institute of Digital Innovation in Learning (RIDIL), ODU Global, Old Dominion University, Virginia, USA.

    • ISO Audit Visit was conducted on 3rd May 2025, and the College was certified with ISO 9001:2005 standards.

    • The College is celebrating Silver Jubliee Year

    • Rev. Sr. Dr. Arulseeli became the Twelfth Secretary of the college.
